Frequently asked questions

What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are a semi-permanent technique that allows a licensed esthetician and/or lash expert to apply a synthetic extension onto individual natural lashes. Lash extensions are safely placed 1mm away from the skin (not on), leaving room for the natural lash to grow and eventually shed. The lash shedding process is completely natural, and happens with or without extensions.

How long does it take?

A new full set can take anywhere between 1-2,5 hours, depending on the clients natural lash count and which type of eyelashes (classic or volume eyelashes) the client is getting done. Fills can take anywhere from 45 min and up.

Can you be allergic to eyelash extensions?

Allergic reactions are VERY uncommon, but they can happen. If a client has experienced any reactions in the past, or if the client has sensitivities or severe allergies by nature, the client should request a patch test at least 72 hours prior to scheduling any related service.

Will eyelash extensions ruin my real lashes?

No.  When properly applied by a licensed professional, your natural lashes will grow, shed and then grow back out as they normally would and will not cause any damage to the natural lashes.

Are eyelash extensions supposed to hurt?

No.  Eyelash extensions should definitely not hurt! If any tugging or discomfort is experienced, you should contact your professional lash technician immediately.

Will I still need to use mascara with my eyelash extensions?

We usually do not recommend our clients to use mascara with the eyelash extensions, since they tend to clump them together which takes away from the seamless look. If a client feel the need to use mascara prior to getting them filled, its recommended to use a mascara specifically made for eyelash extension and only apply it to the tip of the lashes, to prevent the bases to stick together.

Why are my eyelash extensions falling out?

Your lash extensions will naturally shed along with your natural lash. This is a completely natural process that happens with or without extensions. If you are noticing an excessive amount of extensions falling out without the natural lash attached, it can be the result of poor after care such as not washing them enough to remove debris and excess oil. Sleeping on the lashes can also cause the extension to break off from the natural lash.

Are eyelash extensions heavy?

No.  Eyelash extensions should never feel heavy.  Properly applied lash extensions should feel as lite as your natural lashes.
